Damage and leaks in building despite being OK’ed by Surveyor 2 months ago

This property was ok’ed by a Building Surveyor during an inspection on behalf of a DBH Determination. The determination concluded the building was Code Compliant. The Council was duely forced to issue the property a CCC. Yet just 2 months later when the Mdu Probe System was installed on the Council’s insistence, there were not just one, but several areas leaks and total decay. This could easily have been found during the Determination had the Mdu Probe System been employed during the appointed building surveyor’s investigations. How could the Government’s assessments have missed so many problems? Unfortunately while they readily admit traditional processes (such as those used here) are not faultless – building surveyors appointed for Determination inspections are left to their own personal discretion as to what techniques to use – be it outdated or not.
