Opus Laboratories’ literature search shows RotStop preservative poses no more corrosion issues than other typical and common building treatment chemicals.

In summary, the available information shows that borate preservatives

  • are no more corrosive than copper-based preservatives;
  • may be less corrosive than copper-based preservatives, and
  • they are not expected to promote corrosion in the intended operating conditions, once the treated timber had dried out.
