Permeability test through aged paints on various claddings

Samples of claddings taken from homes, Hitex Factory to establish if moisture can permeate through paints as they age. Test involved standing beakers of water with 200mm heads sealed to paint surface. No soakage through Diamond (surface membrane repels moisture) but all other cladding systems tested allow water through. Copy of Stevenson’s permeability testing done in 1993-4
